English is hard….

Hannah was telling me about the list of items the teacher requested for a granola recipe.

“It says shelled sunflower seeds but I think she means unshelled.”

“Oh, so she wants the shells on?” I asked.

“No, shells off.” she replied.

“Shelled, means shells off sweetie.”

“Oh” she said, but she had that look on her face that said ‘who makes up these words”?

I am really going to miss these times. They make me smile.

Our President Controls Oil Prices!

I was listening to Bob and Tom this morning and they were able to interview Senator Hillary Clinton. I have to say it was informative because she let the entire listening audience know that when George Bush was elected, oil was $20 a barrel and now it’s $120 a barrel.

I am sure he (George Bush) finds it easier to control oil prices then when he had to create the hurricanes to sway the election results.

2 political posts from me in two days….. be afraid, be very afraid.

Note: the views expressed in the last two posts are no indication of my political affiliation.

I almost typed that note without laughing.

You gotta love the Irish!

From a recent email:

We in Ireland cannot figure out why you are even bothering to hold an
election.

On one side, you have a bitch who is a lawyer, married to a lawyer, …
and a lawyer who is married to a bitch who is a lawyer.

On the other side, you have a true war hero married to a woman with a
huge chest who owns a beer distributorship.

Is there a contest here?

Makes me proud of my heritage!

I am 3 Degrees of Kevin Bacon!

It goes like this:

Brian Cesak was in Fandango (1985) with Kevin Costner; Kevin Costner was in JFK (1991) with Kevin Bacon; therefore Brian Cesak has a Bacon number of 2.

Brian Cesak, after his moment in the Hollywood sun joined the Navy. I was mobilized with Brian to Seventh Fleet onboard the USS Blue Ridge in support of the Global War on Terror right after 9/11. So, although I wasn’t in a movie, I worked with Brian and I am 3 degrees of Kevin Bacon!

I know, it means nothing really, but if you know me, you are 4 degrees ;)

Gems v.1.0

Gems are something I stumble across that are particularly interesting, funny, poignant, or for some reason, something I just feel I have to write down. This is the first.

I was listening to Bob and Tom and one of the comics, I can’t recall who, said something I just found not only completely funny, but also thought provoking. He said, “it is next to impossible to say eBay in Pig Latin.”

You’re trying it, aren’t you ;)
