Noah has taken to the guitar quite well. People that have been playing all their life are impressed with his ability and it has helped build his confidence, but hasn’t taken away from the traits I admire so much in him.
The other day he came into my office with his guitar and said, ‘can I play you something?’ which was followed closely by, ‘I can play it perfectly, well I can barely do it at all.’ There it was, his confidence being overcome by his honesty. Hopefully he will retain both.
BTW – the song was ‘What I Like About You’ and although it wasn’t ‘perfect’, it was a lot better than ‘barely.’ Maybe he needs to work on the confidence just a bit. :)
