I see this sign in the town where I work all the time, and although I know the intent of the sign, I can’t seem to get past the unintentional ‘literal meaning’. I find it a very unsettling.

That is a strange place for that sign. To be honest, I’ve never seen a sign like that…maybe a sticker on the door of a restaurant.

My favorite related sign, personally, is one I’ve seen that reads “Unaccompanied children will be given espresso and a puppy.”
Love that! That’ll teach ‘em.
But you’re right, your sign is creepy.
